Three more people will be produced at the Nadi Magistrate Court tomorrow for allegedly harboring Deswhar Dutt who escaped from lawful custody in December last year.
Police Chief of Operations, ACP Rusiate Tudravu confirms this will bring the number of people who are alleged to have assisted Dutt during his escape to eight.
ACP Tudravu says they had earlier stressed that those assisting Dutt will be brought to justice.
He says Dutt was on the run for a total of 19 days which proves that a number of people had aided him during his escape.
ACP Tudravu says the Criminal Investigation team in the Western Division will continue its investigation in this matter as they believe that there are others who had been assisting Dutt during his time on the run.
Meanwhile, four people have already been charged and produced in court for allegedly aiding Dutt to escape from lawful custody and for harbouring Dutt.
This includes Dutt’s 32-year-old wife, Shivani Vikashni Sami, his lawyer Adi Litia Vereivalu Vateitei, 40-year-old Priest, Yogesh Prasad and businessman Avinesh Singh.
