July 20, 2019 6:23 am

The third Thurston Food and Music Festival gets underway at midday in Suva.

Event Coordinator Ellana Kalounisiga says the annual event is one that is not to be missed as Fijians will get to enjoy ten hours of live music.

She says over ten local musicians will be performing at the festival from the likes of Knox brotherhood, Nem and Talei, Inside Out, Groove Co. and first-timers, Glass Alley.

Other artists will include Vou, Hope Fiji, Rako Pasefika and children from Dave Steven’s music school.

Kalounisiga says the event tries to offer something new each year and today there will be a range of new products, food and music in-store.

“If you don’t come you miss out on one of the best days of the year in Suva which is followed by the ROC Market on Sunday. We’re trying to keep different bands rolling, different food stalls, different promotions on the bars and another selection of wines. We’re trying to add new things to the event each year.”

A lot more people are expected to attend the annual festival this year.

The event will start at midday and will run until 10 pm.
