Cheika says the experience was the ultimate factor in deciding to pick the pair together in the starting side and pushing Lukhan Salakaia-Loto to the bench.

‘If we play another style of back row we probably be a threat on ball carrying but we’ve seen it before so you’ve seen how they can play together our goal is to win come to the world cup your goal must be to arrive with a medal today and leave with a medal with a different colour’.

Christian Lealiifano and Nic White will unite in the halves while Kurtley Beale has been given the nod at fullback.

White and Lealiifano have played the bulk of the minutes for the Wallabies as the halves combination this season and Cheika says their performances has demanded first crack in the World Cup.
