Three girls below the age of 10-years were allegedly raped and sexually assaulted by their fathers last month.

The Office of the Director of Public Prosecution has released statistics in relation to information filed in the High courts of Fiji on rape and sexual offences.

The statistics reveal that three fathers were charged with rape and sexual assault of their daughters.

In one of the incidents, a 42-year-old man was charged with sexual assault of his six year old daughter, in another incident a 48-year-old man was charged with rape and sexual assault of his 10-year-old daughter while in the third incident a 48-year-old man was charged with rape of his 9-year-old step-daughter.

Thirty people were charged with 62 counts of separate incidents last month.
The ODPP confirms that of the 30 people charged, one was a police officer who was charged with the rape of his 17-year-old niece.

There were 4 juveniles who were charged with rape and sexual assault.

A 12-year-old boy was charged with the rape of a 6-year-old girl, a 15-year-old boy was charged with multiple counts of rape and sexual assaults of a 16-year-old girl and two 17-year-olds were charged alongside another accused with the rape of their 15-year-old cousin.

There were 14 incidents where the victims and the accused were related to one another.

In one incident a 45-year-old man was charged for allegedly raping his 63-year-old mother.

In another incident a 66-year-old man was charged with multiple counts of rape and sexual assault of his 53-year-old sister-in-law.

There was one incident where a 29-year-old man was charged for allegedly raping his 46-year-old grandmother.

There were two separate incidents where a 58-year-old grandfather was charged with rape and sexual assault of his 12-year-old granddaughter and a 34-year-old granduncle was charged with rape of his 14-year-old grandniece.

There was one incident where two men aged 20 and 21 years old were charged with the rape of a 17-year-old girl during a church group camp.
