July 8, 2016 8:07 pm

Police Commissioner Brigadier General Sitiveni Qiliho says there have been a lot of pre-conceived notions about the Police Force and the lack of camaraderie that should not really exist in a disciplined organisation.

Brigadier General Qiliho says there is also mention of empire building and the infamous who you know basis of how things get done within.

He says this has in turn defeated the morale of even the most passionate of officers as they feel their hard work will never be recognised.

However, the Commissioner while addressing officers during the 2nd quarter parade made assurances that there is no place for empire building in the Force.

He says under his leadership recognition will be given where and when it’s due as he believes in rewarding those who work hard and are committed to serving Fijians.

Brigadier General Qiliho says the government has also recognised the hard work of the officers by allocating an extra $5.5 million and special constables getting a salary increase of up to 20%.

The Force has also been given new vehicles.
