July 13, 2018 6:32 pm

The issue of the Fiji National Provident Fund contribution is something that has been discussed at length in a number of Parliament sittings.

Employment Minister Jone Usamate says in order to have a third party view, the issue was raised with accountancy firm – Price Water House Coopers.

Usamate says PWC have observed that there are some MP’s who are not receiving the 10 percent FNPF employer contribution which is normally required.

“They were also able to inform us that in certain instances with similar circumstances employers pay the equivalent of the 10% of FNPF contribution in cash to members to ensure that all employees are receiving the same level of benefits”

Usamate says the observations from an independent third party has shown that there are practices in Fiji that allows each Member of Parliament to be treated equally.
