Teachers who have been encouraged to join the Fiji Trades Union Congress march in Nadi tomorrow are urged to think about the kind of message it will relay to children.

This follows a call made by the Fiji Teachers Union for its members to join the march

Education Minister, Aiyaz Sayed-Khaiyum says many children are looking forward to school starting next week and are expecting to see their teachers in class.

”I urge all teachers to please stay away from people who want to use you and lets focus on the education system, the education of our children, teachers have received a very good working environment and they’ve received a pay rise and of course we’re going to invest alot more in their development.”

Meanwhile, FTU General Secretary, Agni Deo Singh has confirmed that they have sent emails, made calls and visited schools – urging teachers to support the march tomorrow.
