The Fiji Military Forces is impartial and does not share any direct link with the current government or the FijiFirst political party.

This was exclusively highlighted by RFMF Commander, Rear Admiral Viliame Naupoto, on FBC TV’s 4 the Record show last night.

This comes after several statements by the Opposition and views of critics that the RFMF is closely tied to the government of the day.

Rear Admiral Naupoto, silenced these critics saying Fijians are free to elect who they want in power and the RFMF respects the decision made by the people.

“This is the second election after 2014 but we are impartial. I am impartial. I resigned from the FijiFirst to take up this job. I resigned from it. People are free to choose whoever they want to choose. I will respect that and we listen to the people through the government that they put in power.”

Commander Naupoto, adds Fiji has taken a huge step forward from where it was in the past and stresses that Fijians must learn the lesson from the past and move forward.

He says everyone is equal as we are a multicultural nation and this will ensure that the country is stable and secure so the economy thrives.
