Following his non-guilty verdict in court today, SODELPA leader Sitiveni Rabuka says he’s glad to have gone through this trial in court to show others that no one is above the law.

Speaking to the media following his victory, Rabuka says every Fijian must demonstrate that they’re prepared to uphold the law so when it’s alleged that one has contravened the law, they must go through the process of proving their innocence.

Rabuka says the court has done that ably to prove his innocence.

”It’s a very good demonstration that every citizen in Fiji submitting to the law and the machinery of the law for the maintenance of law and I submitted it, I went through the various stages and even appeared in court and cooperated with everyone involved. I’d like to congratulate the prosecution who prosecuted me in court because they were just doing their job and I encourage them to do their job with whatever cases that will be brought before them.”

SODELPA will beef up its campaign now that their leader Sitiveni Rabuka is a free man adding that he’s open to debate with any party.

“The court has ruled that I can continue so I’m there and I’m within my team of 50 very able and ready candidates. I have always been open for debate anytime, anywhere and anybody.”

The Party will continue their campaign this evening in Nausori while Kalabu and Labasa campaigns will be held tomorrow.
