Telecom Fiji Limited (TFL) has requested the Income Tax Bill 2015 be considerate of companies which pay for Voice Over Internet Protocol and those that don’t.
TFL made its submission on the Income Tax Bill 2015 to the Standing Committee on Justice, Law and Human Rights this morning.

TFL currently pays around twelve thousand a month in Imposition of Telecommunication levy under the Income Tax Bill, but recommends that this levy be collected quarterly instead of monthly to reduce administrative logistics.
The report also says the levy could be anti competitive since some Telecom operates Voice Over Internet Protocol or VOIP and don’t pay the levy.
