The Fiji Police Force is warning tertiary students to be careful when purchasing electronic educational gadgets as they prepare for semester one of 2016.

Police have received numerous reports of thefts of mobile phone, laptops, computers and other electronic gadgets.

These devices are later sold on the streets for lower prices to students in need for cheap bargains.

Buyers are unaware of the means the seller has undertaken to get such a device.

Online trading is also becoming a concern for police.

Advertisements are normally done on social sites and many are lured into trading at haste.

The force is advising students to be more vigilant and seek proper advice when engaging in such transactions to avoid police investigations should they be found purchasing stolen items.

Should anyone notice any such suspicious activities you are to report or inform authorities at your nearest police station.
