Term extended for advisory councilors

The government has extended the term of all advisory councilors until the 31st of July.

Their current term in office was to expire at the end of this month.

Lautoka District Advisory Council chair, Faiyaz Ali, told FBC News he received a confirmation from the government for the extension of his term.

The letter states from now onwards the term of all advisory councilors will expire in July every year.

He says this is in line with the government’s financial year.
