November 4, 2017 12:58 am

The Fijian Elections Office has made it clear that all the tenders for the second round of election material procurement will be scrutinized by a duly constituted Tender Committee.

The FEO has advertised tenders for postal voting courier services, printing of ballot papers, supply of polling station sheds and vehicles in the newspapers today.

Supervisor of Elections Mohammed Saneem has reminded the suppliers and contractors to remain apolitical and they must not engage in any political or campaign activity whilst engaged by the FEO.

“We also need to ensure that we have confirmation from our suppliers in terms of their ability to deliver at notice following the announcement of election date. Advertising early will also allow the FEO to verify the capacity of the supplier and where necessary we may also have to re-look at our current plans and contingencies.”

Saneem says interested person must only contact the secretariat and FEO reserves the right to reject any tenders from bidders who may attempt to contact other FEO personnel.

The Elections Supervisor has also clarified that it is not necessary that they will award the tender to the lowest bid.

Tenders close on December 8th.
