The Fiji Revenue and Customs Service has revealed that students under the Tertiary Education Loan Scheme have been complying with repayments.

Chief Executive Vishvanath Das says they have had very few cases where students did not comply.

Das says three-hundred and two-million dollars have been invested into the scheme since its inception in 2014.

He adds TELS is payable once the recipient graduates and starts working.

“There are many students with great honesty, as soon as they found a job, they have made an effort to make contact or direct deposits.”

Das adds the scheme has given an opportunity to over fifty-five thousand students to pursue their education over the last five years.
