Well you know i think it’s the question of everybody being responsible and everybody following the law, you know we have incidences in the past and i don’t want to dwell in this essentially but family care leave has been given by government with a lot of goodwill

The teachers want to raise issues about contracts, pay rates, and other matters, however Sayed-Khaiyum says they should not take such things into their own hands.

Meanwhile, Fiji Teachers Union General Secretary Agni Deo Singh says they support the protest and teachers should not be stopped from practicing their rights.

May be one day they will be told what time they will go to sleep and what time they should wake up and what to do at home and I find this very strange.

The Minister for Economy has also stated that it’s unfortunate that some union leaders are on a personal path.
