Professional development of the teachers will begin this Wednesday before school starts on Monday next week.

This was confirmed by the Education Permanent Secretary Iowane Tiko.

He says all teachers needs to be informed thoroughly of the new direction taken by the Ministry through the government reforms being experienced throughout government ministries.

“We are taking a much proactive measure in trying to get teachers ready and put these dates in place before the actual performance management system kicks in within the ministry of education.”

For those teachers who would be spending overseas leave during this festive period, the ministry will be making provisions for them if they ever turn up late to their schools.
