A 26-year-old teacher from Suva will walk around Vanua Levu this Saturday to raise awareness on child abuse.

With more than one thousand cases of child abuse last year, Savneel Sangeet has taken the initiative to do his part for the community.

Sangeet says after helping some of his students who went through this abuse in their homes, he believes that this issue must not be taken lightly.

“I have known my students, I have seen my students how they suffer coming from that background, so that has motivated me to take this step. Last year I walked around Viti Levu in November and that was for the same purpose.”

Sangeet’s journey will last fourteen days and he has been preparing himself, physically and mentally for the last four months.
