TD07F lies over Fiji

A heavy rain warning has been issued for most parts of the country in light of TDO7F.

Meteorology Director – Ravin Kumar says this weather will continue throughout the weekend.

“TD O7F is now lying over Fiji and from last evening we have been experiencing some heavy rains especially in the North and that has drifted to the South over the Northern Viti Levu and Eastern Viti Levu. With this a heavy rain warning remains in force for the Eastern and Northern Viti levu, Lomaiviti and Kadavu.”

Kumar says flood warning is now in force for low lying areas.

“A flood warning is now in force for low lying areas and adjacent areas to Wailotua Station and areas downstream of Wainibuka River. A flood alert is now in force for the low lying areas and areas adjacent to the Nayavu Station and areas downstream from the Wainibuka River. We also got some heavy rain in the Western Division especially in the Rakiraki area so a flood alert is now in force for low lying areas adjacent to the Rakiraki station and downstream of Rakiraki.”

Kumar says this rain is expected to continue today especially in the North Eastern parts of the country and as well as Kadavu.
