TD04F moves away from the Fiji Group

Tropical Depression 04F continues to move away from the Fiji group.

It was located at around 330 kilometres Northwest of Nadi and 260 kilometres West Northwest of Viwa Island at 8am.

The Depression still remains very slow moving.

Nadi Meteorological Services director, Ravin Kumar, says a heavy rain warning remains in force for the Eastern Viti Levu, Vanua Levu and Taveuni, Lau and the Lomaiviti group however it has been cancelled for the rest of Fiji.

“For areas under warning please note that you will still continue to expect periods of rain, heavier at times and squally thunderstorms over most places and will see periods of rain will gradually ease to showers today. For the rest of Fiji you will be experiencing long breaks with occasional showers possibly heavier at times with isolated thunderstorms. Flash flooding in low lying areas is still possible.”

A strong wind warning remains in force for the land and waters areas.

A flood warning remains for the Rakiraki town, Nayavu Station, Wailotua Station, Wainibuka river, downstream of Navolau, Waimanu Station, Nabukaluka Station, Dreketi Lailai in Labasa and small streams for the whole of Fiji.

Moreover an alert for flood is in force for the Keiyasi station, downstream of the Sigatoka River and downstream of Dewala for the Labasa River.
