The Fiji Roads Authority has estimated that damage on our roads caused by TD04F stands at 8.6million dollars.
FRA Chief Executive Officer, John Hutchinson says the figure is likely to rise as inspection continues.
Hutchinson says FRA will work closely with relevant stakeholders to reallocate money to repair the damage cause by TD04F
We have a budget allocation of some $4million right now for emergency works. Now we’ll be working closely with the Ministry of Economy to determine whether we are to allocate money from within our budget to cover the cost of these emergency repairs or if necessary we go back to the ministry for additional allocation.
Hutchinson adds FRA’s focus is to get the road network open meaning some pending projects will be deferred to 2018 to provide the money needed for these road emergency repairs.
