The Fiji Sugar Corporation says the ratio of tonnes of cane per tonnes of sugar –TCTS is now showing good results.

The average TCTS for the four sugar mills stands at 8.5.

FSC Executive Chairperson, Abdul Khan says this means 8.5 tonnes of cane is crushed to produce one tonne of sugar.

The four sugar mills have crushed a total of 765-thousand tonnes of cane since the crushing season started about two months ago.

That has produced 90,000 tonnes of sugar.

Khan says consistent cane supply to the respective sugar mills could further improve the TCTS.
