TCF Council President Michael Towler says the Textile, Clothing and Footwear Industry is on track in terms of exports.

Towler says the council recorded a $6 million increase in export of products in 2018 compared to 2017.

The President says exports stood at $98 million last year compared to $92m in 2017.

“From $92 million to $98 million. So exports have increased and for a number of years prior to 2018, we saw a decrease in exports because we were finding it difficult to get markets to compete in.”

Towler says the industry is currently exporting mainly to Australia and New Zealand.

He says the council is working with the government to further increase the exports this year.
