Severe Tropical Cyclone Winston has intensified to a category four as it moves further south of the Fiji Group.

Fiji Meteorology director Ravin Kumar says this will mean that the heavy rain experienced over the last fourty-eight hours is expected to ease off significantly in the next 24 hours.

Kumar says this will mean occasional heavy showers for the Fiji Group.

He reiterates that the strong wind warning for the Fiji group remains in force.
