Resident Atunaisa Vodovodo says they woke up this morning to find floodwaters inside their homes.

He says plantations and roads are also underwater.

Vodovodo adds the water level is just below the floor of his home and is about to enter his house.

He says a neighbouring house is submerged.

Other families are still in their homes waiting for the water to recede.

He says if the situation worsens and the water level rises, they will evacuate to a nearby church.

It is drizzling in Dawakoto and the wind has died down.
