Taxi drivers urged to make wise decisions

November 30, 2012 12:01 am

Taxi drivers must not be too hungry for money during this festive season but make wise decisions while picking up passengers.

The Fiji Police Force is giving this warning due to the over consumption of alcohol by some passengers that could lead to unnecessary acts.

Police spokesperson Ana Naisoro says even though there will be full police presence on our roads, taxi drivers must be alert at all times.

“This has always been an issue, whether or not they should choose or whether they are allowed to choose their passengers but for safety reasons where we are coming from, we advise them that if they feel unsafe about taking a passenger drive to the nearest community post or police station and ask for help.”

The Police Force is targeting an incident free Christmas this year.
