A 32 year old taxi driver of Kalabu in Nasinu who is alleged to have failed to appear in the Suva Magistrates Court is in custody.

The man is charged with one count of absconding bail and will appear this afternoon.

He was earlier charged with one count of assault where he slapped a twelve-year-old student for allegedly swearing at him.

The alleged offence occurred on the 17th of October, last year.
