Tavua welcomes sunshine

Fine weather is prevailing in Tavua and flood waters are receding.

According to Police Officer in Tavua, OC Joseph Low, the sun has come for the first time in over three days.

OC Low says that over 600 people are still remaining in the six evacuation centres in Tavua.

Await our final decision after consulting DO as to what is our next move to be done. In regards to the evacuation centres, we still have 601community members who are still residing in those 6 evacuation centres that we have in Tavua.

For the food ration there, we have given 2 food rations to date to the occupants in the various evacuation centres. Those are food rations that are being supplied by the government.

OC Low also adds that road traffic has returned to normal.
