Deputy Commissioner of police Rusiate Tudravu has confirmed that an election taskforce has been identified and the planning has been done.

Tudravu says they are closely liaising with the Supervisor of elections.

He says the officers have undergone training in regards to their role during the 2018 general election.

“Our training manual has also been verified by the elections office and gone through our legal minds so that we are in line with the constitution and in line with the electoral act.”

Tudravu says the officers are also aware of the roles of other stakeholders that will be taking part including the election officials.

Meanwhile, he says close to 2000 officers have been specifically tasked with election operation on the day.
