Tamani fronts court for aggravated robbery charges

A man facing aggravated robbery charges will have his fate decided upon by the High Court in Suva.

Meli Tamani charged with one count of aggravated robbery and appeared in the Suva Magistrates Court yesterday.

It is alleged he robbed $50,253 FJD and foreign currencies valued at $18,585 FJD from the property of City Forex Exchange last Thursday.

The Police prosecutor served full phase disclosures and informed the court that Tamani has other pending cases before other courts.

He also informed the court that police have the names of the other accused persons involved in the alleged offense, however, they are yet to arrest them.

Bail was denied on the grounds that Tamani has pending cases, therefore, he has been remanded.

The case has been adjourned to March 5th.
