Talks between Fiji and the Papua New Guinea government for Fijian retired teachers to teach in schools in PNG are still in it’s early stages.
The Education Ministry confirmed to FBC News, a team from the Ministry will travel to PNG later in the year to continue talks.
In it’s sitting last last week, the PNG Parliament was told by it’s Education Minister Nick Kuman, they are already engaging with Fiji to have retired teachers come to PNG to manage and teach schools around the country.
He says earlier this year, he met with Education Officials in Fiji to discuss this possibility and there is continuous dialogue.
Fiji is currently providing retired teachers to Marshall Islands, Nauru, and Kiribati.
