February 20, 2016 8:55 am

Authorities in the North are concerned that people continue to ignore warnings and advisories.

Commissioner Northern Jovesa Vocea says evacuation centres in Labasa and Savusavu town are being occupied by those who were stranded after the towns were closed down.

At All Saints Secondary School in Labasa, villagers of Nasaqa and Namuka who were in town today are being sheltered there as they could not make it back to the village when the town closed at 2pm.

Villagers from Nabouwalu are being accommodated at the Labasa Civic Centre after being stranded in Labasa town.

In Savusavu, villagers of Naweni who were in town for the day are being accommodated at the Provincial Administrators Office.

Vocea says these people defied all advice and warnings given yesterday and now government has to look after them.

He is pleading with villagers to continue to stay indoors until TC Winston passes.
