The Fiji Police Force is advising the public to take heed of the warnings and advice of the authorities regarding the weather conditions.
Police officers will be out on the roads assisting children as they travel to and from school.
Mariners have been advised to not take the risk and travel to sea.
Police spokesperson Naina Ragigia says over the years, we have seen that a certain group of people continue to defy weather warning and travel at their own risk.
Parents are also advised to be vigilant about their children’s whereabouts and advise them not to cross flooded drains or rivers.
Children should also refrain from playing or swimming in flooded drains, creeks or rivers and must remain indoors at all times.
