The Tailevu Provincial Council aims to collect $1.5m during its two day fundraising drive planned for December.

Council Chair Rusiate Tudravu says the most constructive method to collect the funds will be through transparency.

Tudravu says there it is vital to clarify the improper financial records of the Tailevu Holding Company.

Tudravu believes once the financial records are clarified to the people within the province, they will surely support and give freely to the good cause.

“When the committee goes out for the Tailevu Day fundraising for this year, there are some of the pertinent questions that people were asking but I can confirm now that I will personally look into that so that we can have the records and people are given what is due to them because the company has been running for quiet sometimes now.”

Out of the 1.5 million dollars aimed to be collected, 40 percent will go towards the Sustainability Livelihood training.

20 percent will be directed towards the Council’s Education committee and another 20 percent for the operational cost of the provincial office.
