The Attorney-General had brought court proceedings against Nicholas, claiming that comments he made in November 2011 that there is no judiciary in Fiji scandalised the court and posed the risk of undermining public confidence in the Fijian judiciary and the administration of justice in Fiji.

The case has been adjourned to the 24th August 2012.
