Suva CBD sees improvement in sales

Suva businesses seeing revenue increases.

Operators in Suva’s Central Business District believe that revenue streams will return to normal soon.

Managing Director of The Mad Hatter Hut, Ela Alefaio says coffee drinkers are slowly returning following a few months of being away.

Alefaio says their business has had to make adjustments and everyday there is an increase in customers, enabling them to keep their staff and increase sales.

“I think it’s been ok for us, we’ve definitely missed the children because we are space about mothers and children and for a while there we didn’t see our children and was starting to see them come back to our space and we are very happy for that.”

Joyce Chou the Manager of Wing Sang Cooperation that sells Chinese sweets and foods says they are seeing many regulars returning.

Chou says ahead of the budget she gave special prices which helped attract more customers.

 

“I did it before the budget and then I was like it’s good for the people in Fiji so I’ll slash prices.”

Both businesses are seeing more competition as all operators try to increase revenue.
