It’s important that the private and public manufacturing sectors in Fiji establish sustainable renewable energy practices.

This comes after the launch of Coca-Cola Amatil’s solar energy project in Suva yesterday.

General Manager, Roger Hare says the solar energy project aligns with environmental values.

“All other large manufacturers on our island have the leadership role to play in seeking out real resources and demonstrating sustainable business practices. Given the natural abundance of sunny skies our country is blessed with, the harness clean and free solar energy is an obvious solution.”

Hare says they will now be working on becoming 40 percent solar powered.
