Police have arrested a suspect for his alleged involvement in the death of Australian woman Tracey Ann O’Brien Maw.

The suspect was arrested early this afternoon.

He is currently being interrogated by officers.

Maw’s decomposed body was found by a villager near Vunavutu Village in Sigatoka on Monday evening.

She was reported to be visiting the village with a friend.

Maw was identified by her brother who had traveled to Fiji to look for her because she had not contacted her family in Victoria for some time.

Australian media report Maw was in a relationship with a Fijian man and had come to Fiji in the hope of resolving some matters with him.
