A number of supermarkets in the Central Division have reported a shortage of frozen chicken.
FBC News paid a visit to some supermarkets around the Capital City and Nasinu and found that freezers usually stocked with Crest Chicken were empty.
Others had only a handful in stock.
Shop N Save supermarket in Valelevu had no Crest and Rooster chickens.
New World Supermarket in Valelevu confirms that they have very limited Crest Chicken stock and that Goodman Fielder is unable to fully supply their orders.
Other Supermarkets are facing a similar situation.
Goodman Feilder earlier told FBC News they will ensure there is ample supply of chicken, and they might introduce larger size chickens.
Rooster Poultry says they’ve increased production by thirty percent and they’re fulfilling supermarket orders for number nine to number 17 chickens.
