The funeral service for the Managing Director of CJ Patel Group Sundip Patel was held at his residence at Waimanu Road, Suva this morning.
Patel passed away after a severe heart attack on 28th December at the Colonial War Memorial Hospital in Suva.
Today, friends, family as well as staff from the various subsidiary companies lined the driveway of his home, with wreaths and flowers to pay their last respects.
These include local businessmen, dignitaries, government ministers and permanent secretaries.
At the time of his death, Patel was the Managing Director of CJ Patel Group of companies, which owns a number of subsidiaries around the country and the region.
The Prime Minister Voreqe Bainimarama also showed up to paid his respects.
A procession escorted Patel’s body to the Dignified Cremations in Nasinu for cremation.
Sundip Patel is survived by his wife Shveta, his daughters Sonia and Alisha and his son Jay.
