Sunday church service postponed

The Commissioner North Jovesa Vocea has advised all religious organisations in the North to suspend all church services tomorrow.

This comes as Tropical Cyclone Winston bears down on Vanua Levu from this evening.

He says a notice will be sent to all religious organisations to cancel all church programs from tonight and tomorrow.

He is advising the public to consider their safety and that of their family first.

All Methodist Church in Fiji Sunday services has been suspended for tomorrow.

Church General Secretary, Rev. Dr. Epineri Vakadewavosa says this decision is for the safety of members.

Rev Vakadewavosa says they are urging their members to exercise caution and common sense with regards to Sunday worship this weekend and encourage members to hold family devotion at home tomorrow.

Rev. Dr. Vakadewavosa is asking all Divisional Superintendents and ministers to advise their members to follow instructions from the National Disaster Management Office.

As Severe Tropical Cyclone Winston passes over Fiji, Rev. Dr. Tevita Banivanua has called on the nation to join in prayer.

Church president, Rev. Dr. Banivanua has postponed tomorrow’s induction service of the Divisional Superintendent of the Kinoya Division.
