Social Welfare recipients who are appealing for the continuity of their assistance need to submit proper document says the Ministry.

Spokesperson Anshoo Mala says under the review 2782 recipients were disqualified out of which 1504 have appealed.

However, Mala says decision on appeal cases will be made quickly if all documents are correct.

“If you are writing to the Appeals Panel for re-consideration of your cases – please do submit your important documents like birth certificates. And if you are asking the panel for re-instatement you need to give your contact address and your details as to why you are asking for the continuity of the Social Welfare Assistance.”

The Ministry reviewed its assistance program after it found out that some recipients did not deserve the assistance.
