“We have seen in Fiji now at the moment, there is so much negativity, there is so much racism, there is so much religious vilification, there is so much character assassination. In Australia they have passed new laws, they have passed new standards, they have got e-protection of children, these are some of the things that we are actually looking at doing so but you have to be mindful to use it wisely, it is a great tool.”

Aiyaz Sayed-Khaiyum also warned the students not to believe everything they see on social media.

“Not everything that you see is actually correct, not everything that you read is correct so you need to become a lot more discerning, don’t be just someone who stupidly follow whatever is on social media.”

In addition to the prefect induction, five teachers were also recognized for their hard work and for attaining a 100 percent pass rate in different subjects.
