Three students were granted an extended bail period by the Suva High Court.
The accused, 20-year-old, Pita Tukele, 19-year-old, Nemani Mua and 19-year-old Tomasi Tuicakau are each charged with aggravated burglary and theft.
It is alleged the three USP students on April 26th between 1 and 4am, broke into the USP fitness centre and stole a laptop valued at $999 and an ANZ Goodman Fielder cheque worth $450; all to the total value of $1,449.
Judge Justice Riyaz Hamza said the offence is serious and in any other circumstances, he would have remanded the three in custody for the actions.
However, he said due to their age and with the consideration of their education, bail has been granted.
The matter will be recalled in court tomorrow (Friday).
