Students granted bail to sit for Year 13 examination

Three students facing rape charges have been released on bail by the Suva High Court to sit for their Year 13 examination from tomorrow.

The three appeared before Judge Justice Vincent Perera today.

It is alleged that the three raped a 12-year-old student and they all are attending the same school.

The three will not be able to sit the examination at their school and arrangement has been made for them to sit for their examination at a center in Nasinu.

The three have been released on $1000 bail with sureties.

They have been ordered to report to the nearest police station every Monday and to surrender their travel documents if any.

The court has also ordered the three not to travel outside of Viti Levu until the case finishes.

A curfew has also been imposed on them from 7.30pm to 5.30am.

They have also been ordered to enroll at a different school.

The matter has been adjourned to 10th November.
