Students caught in internet shop during school hours

Around fifteen high school students were round up by Police yesterday afternoon after they were found in an internet shop in Suva during school hours.

Police spokesperson Ana Naisoro confirms, the students were taken to the Totogo Police Station and questioned.

The students were later released after being warned by Police.

Education Minister Dr. Mahendra Reddy says the Ministry will now roster teachers from different schools to patrol towns and internet cafes.

Dr. Reddy says they will also be talking to the parents of the students involved in this incident to counsel them on the importance of knowing the whereabouts of their children.

FBC News understands the students are from two prominent Suva schools.

The two schools were informed of the issue by Police however only a teacher from one of the schools turned up at the Police Station to see the students.
