Fiji Ports Corporation develops a five year strategic plan
Fiji Ports Corporation has developed a five year strategic plan aimed at modernizing their respective Ports.
Fiji Ports Chief Executive Vajira Piyasena says they plan to move into a completely automated system, using technologies such as vessel traffic management and enhancement of piloted services to name a few.
Piyasena also says, for the first time, an overseas consultant has been engaged to outline the necessary work required to upgrade their systems.
“We actually develop this 5 year plan that is mainly happening towards the end of this year so that has taken lots of our time .and management is doing a lot of work because it’s a five year plan and developing this plan has taken much of our time and it has to be developed in such a way so that we can make it more less like a regional sort of harbor.”
Meanwhile, Piyasena says as part of the strategic plan is the removal of ship wrecks and other harmful debris in Fiji’s Ports.
