Stop sharing stabbing video says Police

December 5, 2019 8:11 am

Police are urging the public to refrain from sharing the video of the stabbing incident which happened in Samabula, Suva yesterday.

This as people are sharing the video on various social media sites.

Police spokesperson, Ana Naisoro says it is absolutely appalling that people are sharing the video with little to no thought about the victim, her family, and loved ones.

Naisoro says this is a tragic crime and social media users should not be taking advantage of the victim’s pain and suffering.

Police say sharing of the video should not be used as a means of self-gratification to get likes or followers on social media.

Meanwhile, the man alleged to have stabbed his ex-wife several times in Samabula has been arrested.

The suspect in his 40s allegedly sustained injuries during the incident last night and is receiving treatment while under police guard.
