Stop lying to consumers.

This is the comment from Fiji Competition and Consumer Commission Chief Executive Joel Abraham after having public consultations in the Western division.

Abraham says many villagers in the Western division raised concerns on people having pocket meetings and misinforming people about lowering the cost of living.

FBC News believes that some political parties are allegedly going around and engaging people into this kind of discussions.

Abraham says this should not be the case as consumers deserve to know the truth.

“One of the questions that we got asked is that if a political party comes into power or if a particular person is elected as Prime Minister then we will see a twenty percent reduction in food prices so I said to them if they have the magic formula please pass it to us.”

Abraham says FCCC is not politically aligned and they are there to ensure that consumers are given correct information.
