It’s been brought to the attention of the Tailevu provincial council that some villages are deterring the progress of various developments.

Provincial Council Chair Rusiate Tudravu has called on village heads to advise their people not to hinder developments that are underway.

He says this call comes after a report was received that some road workers stopped working on road developments after they were allegedly sworn at by two brothers.

Tudravu says this type of behaviour should not be condoned because the government is doing all it can to ensure no Fijian is left behind in their effort to develop our country.

“On the other side while we are requesting here, we are the obstacles to everything that has been done, especially not all the landowners these are few disgruntled ones which they have their internal issues they should solve it amongst them and they want to bring it out and vent it to the very people that are bringing in assistance that we want to have.”

Tudravu says government officials and development partners visiting villages should be well looked after as these are the ones bringing in development.

Tudravu says he’s also spoken and advised district officers to look into this matter.
