Stop creating public confusion: Akbar

May 5, 2018 7:39 pm

Health Minister Rosy Akbar has taken a swipe at posts being made on social media that is trying to dampen the work of health officials.

The Minister says she’s disappointed that their effort to try and procure vaccines for the Meningococcal Disease has been used for political gain.

Procuring Men-C vaccines for affected Fijians is not an easy task, however Akbar says it will continue to do what’s best for all Fijians despite degrading comments.

“By making very deep irresponsible and unsubstantiated comments, in my view this has cause public confusion and created misplace anxiety and fear amongst our people on this very important issue which determines our health and well-being.”

Akbar says it’s important they speak the truth as their work is paramount in delivering the best for Fijians.

The Health Minister also slammed those that have been making claims that there was a delay to the procurement of the vaccines.

Akbar says this was a lie and the public deserves to know the truth.
